The establishment of the Arawali Veterinary College, Sikar in the year 2009 opened a new chapter in the history of privatization of veterinary education in state of Rajasthan in particular and the Country in general. State of Rajasthan became fore-runner in the country to strengthen animal husbandry sector by taking policy decision to permit private partners to open veterinary colleges. The guiding principle for the AVC was to adhere to the Standards laid down by the Veterinary Council of India as well as State Govt. policies and programs in this direction. Arawali Veterinary College is managed by Aastha Society, a cooperative society having its office in Sikar. The Chairman/President of the Society, Sh. Pawan Kumar Joshi and Secretary, Sh. Mahesh Dhaka are the executive authorities who manage procurement of land, finance, infrastructure and maintenance of buildings, provision of materials for academic needs of the college, residential requirements of students and staff, transport and security on the campus. For technical matters, the Management get expert advice from the senior faculty. The faculty appointment is made by the Management on recommendation of a committee headed by the Dean of the college. As per MSVE-2016 Regulations, AVC has 17 Departments offering courses in their respective disciplines for the award of B.V.Sc.& A.H. degree and a Library. The Dean of the college manages academic and co-curricular activities in collaboration with Heads of the Departments and faculty. Students’ welfare including lodging and boarding is supervised by Hostel Wardens.
